Know Before You Go!

We all know how Missouri weather can be, so be ready for anything - especially mud. Follow these tips and you'll be sure to enhance your viewing experience.

  • Dress for the elements. That might mean mud-friendly shoes, rain gear (if necessary), a hat for sun protection, light clothes (if boating), a dry change of clothes if you’re racing and you plan to stay at the event and plenty of sunscreen.

  • Bring your own chair. Attendees line up along the edge of Bass Pro Shops Lake to watch the races. Bringing your own chair or other surface is strongly encouraged. Some bleachers will be available.

  • Bring your appetite! Food trucks will be at the event before and during the races.

  • Bring cash or card. Float Your Boat is a free event! However, there are lots of ways to support your neighbors in need. You can vote for your favorite boat in the People’s Choice Award category, snag some great snacks and drinks from local vendors (a portion of all proceeds come back to The Food Bank) or donate to feed neighbors with cash, card or Venmo.
